Support The Watering Can Today

Current Projects

Watering Can Ministries is currently supporting three Christ-centered projects across Kenya: Injili Mission Church in Kitui, Kingdom Seekers in Nakuru, and Working for God Ministries in Kisii. Each ministry is serving its community in powerful ways—through discipleship, care for children, and practical support that helps families and churches grow. Below is a snapshot of the work God is doing through these partnerships.

Injili Mission Church — Project Overview

Injili—the Swahili word for “Gospel”—is a vibrant, multi-location ministry led by Bishop Robinson Matende. Watering Can Ministries is honored to partner with Injili Mission Church as it reaches communities across Kenya. Injili has congregations in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kilifi, Chaurembo, Kitui, and other regions, actively sharing the Light of Christ and meeting real needs across the nation.

Our primary focus is supporting the growing work in Kitui, where Injili is pursuing a powerful long-term vision:

  • Establishing  an 11-acre ministry property
  • Building a working farm to create lasting food security
  • Constructing a church as the spiritual center of the project
  • Developing a prayer and fasting center
  • Launching youth athletics programs to disciple and empower the next generation
  • Pursuing a long-term vision for a school and orphanage

The heart of this project is simple: to plant and water a place where faith, provision, and community can grow together for generations.

We are grateful to partner with Kingdom Seekers in Nakuru, a home-based children’s ministry lovingly led by Sister Joyce Wanjiru. This ministry is centered on caring for children—spiritually, emotionally, and physically.

Kingdom Seekers serves the children of Nakuru through:

  • Feeding programs, ensuring kids receive nourishing meals
  • Paying school fees so children can continue their education
  • Covering medical bills for those who cannot afford care
  • Bible study and prayer meetings that ground the children in the Word of God
  • Fun activities, including games and fellowship, creating a joyful, safe environment

Looking ahead, the vision is to acquire property where the ministry can grow food for greater food security and build a community center dedicated to feeding, teaching, worship, and children’s activities. This long-term goal will allow Kingdom Seekers to expand its impact and create a stable gathering place for the children of Nakuru.

We also support a growing children’s home in Kisii, led faithfully by Pastor Frederick Ombatti, who cares for 27 orphans with compassion, commitment, and great personal sacrifice.

This project focuses on meeting the most urgent needs of the children, including:

  • Feeding and food security, ensuring every child receives consistent, nutritious meals
  • Expanding the compound to create a safer, more spacious environment
  • Improving living conditions, especially upgrading dormitories, sanitation, and essential resources

Our vision for Kisii is to help create a stable, thriving home where each child can grow, learn, and experience the love and care they deserve. Through practical support and long-term development, we aim to strengthen this orphanage so it can continue to grow and be a place of hope and restoration for the children of Kisii.
